Emergency Foster CareOur primary mission is to provide emergency care to families who need temporary foster homes for their companion animals due to emergencies such as domestic violence, illness, hospitilzation, rehabilitation, foreclosure or other emergency. Animals are cared for in foster homes for up to 90 days and are then reunited with their families. At this time, we are not able to work with animals that have aggression issues to preserve the safety of the people and animals in our program. Services are confidential and free of charge ( those that are able are asked to make a donation and/or provide some support for their animal during the foster period so that we can help those that are not). If you feel that you would qualify for our emergency care services, please use the contact information below: Domestic Violence Medical Issues (including Mental Health) Foreclosure Please be advised that space is limited. We are only able to help when foster slots are open. Shelter Assist ProgramWhen space is not being used for emergency care cases, we are happy to lend a hand to overcrowded shelters. We are not able to assist animals with aggression issues or in cases where the animal has contracted an infectious disease such as parvo. Stray or Relinquished PetsSadly we normally are not able to assist when a stray animal is found or a pet needs to be relinquished. Exceptions are made on a case by case basis, normally in situations where the animals owner has become to ill to care for them, is being relocated to a nursing home or other assistive living situation or has passed away. If you are looking for assistance with a stray animal or would like to relinqish a family pet, please contact us at underthewing@hotmail.com. Feral CatsUnder the Wing maintains a small feral colony inside the city of Cleveland. At this time, our colony matriarch, Jenny Fur, is very hesitatant to allow cats outside our current colony group to use the houses or eat. For this reason we are not accepting additional cats at this time. If you would like information on establishing your own feral colony or are looking for advice/plans please feel free to contact us at underthewing@hotmail.com. |
